Poll: Help me choose a day

Here’s a fresh summer resolution: organize more regular ScrumBreakfasts in Geneva.

How you can help: tell me what day-of-the-week is most suitable for you! I’ve heard so many people complain about Monday or Friday meetings…

I’m aiming for a monthly meeting, with the following timing:
8h15-8h30: coffee, juice and croissants, networking
8h30: official start, community infos
8h40-9h20: presentation by a Scrum practitioner
9h20-9h45: Q&A, networking, more coffee & croissants

The location is close to the Cornavin train station in order to make getting there easy.

Ca met en évidence notre de proche cousin avec scrum-breakfast.com, créé par Peter Stevens il y a une année quasi jour pour jour. Les bonnes idées se propagent, et Peter a donné sa bénédiction pour la création d’un ScrumBreakfast genevois, merci!

ScrumBreakfast #2 in Geneva!

Bonjour à tous! (english text below)

Après la réussite de la première édition en décembre 2008, voici l’annonce officielle du prochain ScrumBreakfast romand (dans une salle plus grande):

le jeudi 9 avril 2009, 8h30-9h45
au Warwick à Genève (en face de la gare Cornavin)
Julien Piaser de SkyGuide nous présentera SCRINCH, un outil open source de gestion des projets Scrum.

Pour ceux qui ne le connaissent pas, Julien Piaser est ingénieur de formation, fondateur et dirigeant d’une SSII à Mulhouse, puis ingénieur au service du Trading de pétrôle.
Après avoir rejoint Skyguide en 2005 en tant qu’ ingénieur au service du contrôle aérien, il travaille depuis plus de 3 ans au sein d’une équipe de 4/5 personnes dont la mission principale est de répondre à des besoins logiciels concernant les données environementales aéronautiques (conditions Météo, information sur l’occupation des espaces aériens…).
En plus de son rôle de développeur et de ScrumMaster, il est en charge, en collaboration avec son chef de projet, d’analyser, de coordonner et de négocier avec de nombreux intervenants (plus d’une vingtaine), tant techniques que métiers, dont les intérêts sont, sinon contradictoires, en tous cas très éloignés.

here’s the official announcement for Geneva’s next ScrumBreakfast:

April 9, 8:30 – 9:45 at the Warwick Geneva (near Cornavin train station)

Julien Piaser from SkyGuide will be speaking about SCRINCH, an open source application that helps managing your projects using the Scrum method. (And no, it’s not Christmas yet! – but that’s the name of the app…)

Julien Piaser came to SkyGuide in 2005 after having launched a startup in Mulhouse and having worked as en engineer in oil trading.
He’s now in air traffic control, working with a team of 5 people in charge of software about environmental conditions & data for air traffic (weather, airspace occupation, and so on).
In addition to being a ScrumMaster and Developer, he assists the project manager in analyzing, coordinating and negotiating with more than twenty stakeholders, from business to technical.

There’s an upper limit of 25 participants, looking forward to seeing you all there! Please drop us an email !
